The title leaves no doubt that it is an action film. But be prepared to get more than you expect. It is an action extravaganza rarely seen on Kannada screen. More than that it follows the story telling format that has been made famous by Tarantino in Hollywood. If you miss the first scene you will miss the whole film.
The film starts with a graphic narration and then moves on to human characters. Haripriya is caught in a revenge saga. She is saved by Agastya, a mechanic. Gangs after gangs sent to defeat him fail miserably. It is only by interval that it is revealed that Agastya is not what he is made out to be. He has a past that sends fear down the spine of the ad guys. But is Agastya himself a bad guy?

Neenasam satish, subhiksha
Neenasam Satish's first film as solo hero was last year's Lucia. Anjada Gandu, that released today is not an experiment but a truly commercial venture. Its name is taken from the earlier film that starred Crazy Star Ravichandran. However, there are many differences between the two films. This film is a remake of a Tamil film just like Pradeep Raj's first film Kirataka. The lead characters of the two films bearing the same name could not have been more different. The title does not actually suit the role in the new film. It is more of a comedy film with a romantic theme.
Satish has done justice to his role as a lazy young man who is given to lying big time. What he believes is harmless bragging about how his neighbour girl loves him turns out to be a life-changing and life-threatening drama. But it is the comedy that is the staple of the film. It is a promising start to Satish's foray into mainstream commercial films.

When a film generates so much hype and subsequent expectations, a measure of disappointment is inevitable. But what Jayanth Paranjee has done to the long-awaited return of Puneeth to the big screen is beyond the usual 'disappointment quotient'. It has been a huge let-down by any standards. Giving him due credit, he brings to screen some never-before seen adventures in Kannada cinema, but the rest of the film is set like a television soap sans advertisements. Early in the film, Puneeth says, "I chew challenges like chewing gum and spit them out." But Paranjee has forgotten to spit the gum after it has lost its flavour and drags it with a vengeance. Fans of Puneeth will no doubt watch the film repeatedly just for the stunts, but the director should take the blame for the mess that the film has turned out to be.
